UKDS: Introduction to effective and practical research data management
During this free 90-minute online workshop, UKDS will explore the key components of effective research data management, including data management planning, organising, and documenting data, ensuring data quality, storing and backing up data, as well as strategies for data preservation and sharing. The workshop will also cover practical tools and techniques for data management, such as metadata standards for documenting data, data quality semi-automated freeware, and best practices for data sharing and archiving.

DPC: Introducing the DPC Advocacy Toolkit and Novice to Know-How Advocacy Course
Join the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) for an interactive session introducing two new resources designed to support digital preservation advocacy: the Digital Preservation Advocacy Toolkit and the Novice to Know-How (N2KH) Advocacy Course, which was conceived of and funded by The National Archives (UK). Created to help digital preservation practitioners make the case more confidently for their work, this 90-minute online event will offer a first look at both resources, share practical examples of small but effective advocacy wins, and connect participants with others working to build momentum for digital preservation within their own organizations. Whether you are just beginning to think about advocacy or looking for fresh ways to strengthen your message, this session will provide practical ideas, shared experiences, and helpful first steps.

International Digital Curation Conference: IDCC27
IDCC27 will take place in Lisbon in February 27th. The call for submissions is now open! The 21st edition of the International Digital Curation Conference(IDCC27) will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 9 - 12 February 2027. The main theme of the conference is ”FAIR DO's: Centring People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects.” The FAIR principles emphasise machine actionability, but the increasing integration of artificial intelligence systems into data infrastructure carries the risk of marginalising people in the planning, management, and practice of digital curation. The theme of this year’s conference acknowledges the crucial role of people in making digital objects FAIR.

The Digital Curation Centre is pleased to announce a professional development opportunity, co-hosted with RDA Europe, designed specifically for professionals in research support roles. Our half-day workshop taking place next month will equip you with the skills and knowledge to assess and improve your organisation's research data management (RDM) and FAIR-enabling capabilities. This interactive workshop will introduce you to the concept of self-assessment, providing you with practical guidance on how to evaluate your organisations’ capabilities to support RDM and the production and reuse of FAIR data.  Through hands-on activities and real-world scenario discussions, you will gain essential skills in conducting these assessments and learn how to implement, interpret, and use the results to drive organisational improvements.

Workshop about UK dRTP skills and competencies community collaboration @ SSI Collaborations Workshop
The Software Sustainability Institute's annual Collaborations Workshop (CW) is an immersive, three-day unconference, which emphasises active collaborations, dynamic discussions, and hands-on problem-solving. The highly anticipated Collaborations Workshop 2026 (CW26) will take place as a hybrid event from Tuesday 28 April to Thursday 30 April at ICC Belfast.
