Join us for the first session in the CaSDaR Data Stewardship Training series, designed specifically for data stewards looking to strengthen their research data management practice.

This hands-on training will equip you with the foundational knowledge and practical tools needed to manage research data effectively, consistently, and in line with best practices across disciplines.

Whether you are new to data stewardship or looking to consolidate your existing skills, this session provides a solid grounding in the core principles that underpin good RDM.

This Training Session will be run by Digital Curation Centre (DCC).

  • Apply best practices for organising, documenting, and preserving research data across a range of disciplines
  • Design robust file naming conventions and folder structures that support long-term accessibility and consistency
  • Navigate common data types and formats, and make informed choices based on their strengths and limitations
  • Create comprehensive data documentation, including README files and codebooks, for complex datasets

  • 12:30: Best practices for organizing, documenting, and preserving research data across various disciplines. Participants will learn how to apply these practices to their specific research context.
  • 13:30: File Naming Conventions and Folder Structures: Establishing robust and consistent organizational systems for long-term data management and accessibility. Common Data Types and Formats: Understanding strengths and limitations of various data formats
  • 14:30: Comprehensive Data Documentation: README files, codebooks, and documentation strategies for complex datasets.
