We are delighted to invite you to the Hybrid CaSDaR Data Stewardship Conference 2026, taking place on the 17th–18th November 2026, both at The Midland, Manchester and online.
A year on from the launch of the Careers and Skills for Data-driven Research (CaSDaR) Network, this conference brings together the growing data stewardship community to share progress, showcase impact, and shape the next phase of activity.
As the volume and complexity of research data continues to increase, the need for skilled Data Stewards remains critical. Over the past year, CaSDaR has been working to strengthen recognition of the role, support professional development, and build a connected UK-wide community. This conference provides an opportunity to reflect on progress and contribute to what comes next.
Day 1 will focus on data stewardship in practice, featuring contributions from a wide range of Data Stewards across different domains and institutions. Attendees will hear real-world experiences, explore different approaches, and take part in poster sessions and lightning talks showcasing current work across the community.
Day 2 will highlight the impact of the CaSDaR funding programme, with presentations from funded projects demonstrating the value of embedding Data Stewards in research workflows and organisational processes. The day will also include interactive discussions, providing opportunities to contribute to CaSDaR’s future plans and deliverables.
The programme will include:
- Talks from Data Stewards across diverse disciplines and institutions
- Poster presentations and lightning talks showcasing current practice
- Insights from CaSDaR-funded projects
- Community discussions to inform future priorities and activities
Save the date in your calendar – further details and registration information will be shared in late June.
We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester and continuing to build and strengthen the UK Data Stewardship community together.
P.S. There will be NEW and EXCITING Cassie Merch!
