About the Event
Samantha Pearman-Kanza and Louise Saul attended, and presented a CaSDaR Poster at the in-person 20th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC26), which took place in Zagreb, Croatia between 16-18 February 2026. The main theme for the conference was AI, austerity, and authoritarianism: contemporary challenges in digital curation.
Event Programme
Day 1 provided the participants with a range of workshops to attend, and Days 2-3 were predominantly presentations, interspersed with some poster sessions and networking.
Event Audience
The annual IDCC presents an opportunity for the global data community to congregate; this year’s conference, with the theme of ‘AI, austerity, and authoritarianism: contemporary challenges in digital curation’, was held in Zagreb, Croatia.

Outputs
CaSDaR’s PI, Samantha Pearman-Kanza, supported a workshop being delivered by another project partner, the Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure, on improving how we as a community implement and use Data Management Plans. Samantha also presented a poster which introduced the aims of CaSDaR, as well as introducing Cassie to the community (the most important part of the event!). Cassie had a chance to meet up with Angus and Percy, the data puffins. The wonder Cassie CaSDaR poster designed by Cerys Willoughby can be found on Zenodo here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18669414
The CaSDaR team strengthened existing connections and made new ones; the event was great to attend, and we look forward to future work with our project partners.
