About the Event
Prior to the formal launch of CaSDaR, Samantha Pearman-Kanza presented on data stewardship and offered a sneak peak into CaSDaRs plans at the Paperless Labs Academy 2025. This is a yearly 2-day in-person conference that aims to set the stage for discussions on the most suitable strategies for implementing digitalised processes in the laboratory.
Event Programme
Over the two days there were presentations on use cases, experiences and strategies from practice, thought-provoking panel discussions, cross industry discussions about DATA related topics, and multiple hands on workshops.
Event Audience
This event was designed for industry leaders and academics who are interested in transformation strategies, data master plan, data management, data lifecycle, data and always data!
Event Organiser
This event was organised by the Paperless Lab Academy Team. The Paperless Lab Academy® is operated and organised by NL42 Consulting in collaboration with 20/15 Visioneers. The Paperless Lab Academy® project was launched in 2013 with the aim of creating an ideal platform to first discuss paperless processes and then more and more about new concepts, technologies, compliance and people. but always about data!
Outputs
Today´s digital ecosystem offers many opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency, yet there are always some hurdles that make the journey longer than expected. These topics all have data at their core, and its vital that we promote data stewardship across a range of disciplines and across industry and academia, as CaSDaRs grand vision involves data stewards embedded in ALL institutions.
Based on this, in her keynote presentation, Samantha championed the need for Data Stewards across the whole research data lifecycle, and provided an insight into CaSDaR (The Careers and Skills for Data-driven Research Network+), detailing our roadmap, deliverables, projects partners and team, and our overarching plans for the next four years.
