CaSDaR Event Code of Conduct
CaSDaR is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology preferences.
We strive to create a collaborative and supportive space where all members feel encouraged to share their work, ideas, and perspectives. Participants are expected to provide feedback that is polite, constructive, and focused on ideas rather than individuals. We value respectful dialogue and the open exchange of knowledge, and we ask all attendees to contribute to a culture of encouragement and mutual respect.
Harassment in any form will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments, inappropriate use of sexual language or imagery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwelcome photography or recording, sustained disruption of sessions, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Such behaviour is unacceptable in all conference venues, including talks, workshops, social events, and online platforms associated with CaSDaR.
Participants who are asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Event organisers reserve the right to take any action deemed appropriate in response to violations of this Code of Conduct. This may include issuing a warning, removing the individual from the event without a refund, or barring them from future CaSDaR activities.
If you experience or witness any form of harassment, or have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of yourself or others, please contact a member of the CaSDaR organising team immediately. Reports can be made in person or via email to casdar@soton.ac.uk. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.
