SUMMARY:FIDELIS Data Reuse Workshop #1 - Overcoming (perceived) barriers to reuse of research data: Cultural and educational aspects
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is part of a set of stand-alone but interrelated workshops run by FIDELIS to explore different aspects of data reusability. Register here. \nIn this first training workshop\, we consider some cultural and educational aspects of data reusability. Through a series of talks and guided discussions we consider how data professionals are supporting and collaborating with researchers in research data management and sharing. We consider what repositories should be (better) aware of regarding the challenges and opportunities that researchers face around data sharing\, reproducibility and reuse\, including driving forces in the research communities.

SUMMARY:FIDELIS Data Reuse Workshop #2 - Overcoming (perceived) barriers to reuse of research data: Legal and ethical aspects
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is part of a set of stand-alone but interrelated workshops run by FIDELIS to explore different aspects of data reusability. Register here. \nIn this second training workshop\, we consider some legal and ethical aspects of data reusability. Through a series of talks and guided discussions we consider how data professionals are supporting and collaborating with researchers in research data management and sharing\, including support with the CARE Principles. We consider what repositories should be (better) aware of regarding the challenges that researchers face around data ownership and ethical challenges\, both as data depositors and potential data reusers. We look at what current projects are working on that aim to better inform researchers about how data has been used or can be (re)used\, including more complex data access and reuse conditions. \n

SUMMARY:FIDELIS Data Reuse Workshop #3
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is part of a set of stand-alone but interrelated workshops run by FIDELIS to explore different aspects of data reusability. Register here. \nIn this third training workshop\, we consider some technical aspects around data reusability. We take a particular focus on several important elements of data management that are crucial for data reuse: metadata\, data documentation\, and data citation. The event presents the perspectives of specialists who are developing tools to encourage the creation of rich and complete metadata\, supporting data documentation\, and tracking data impact through citation practices.

SUMMARY:Trusted Research for Repository/Data Managers
DESCRIPTION:Trusted Research supports the integrity of the system of international research collaboration\, which is vital to the continued success of the UK’s research and innovation sector.\n\n\n\nInternational research is vulnerable to misuse by organisations\, institutions and individuals who operate on behalf of nations that seek to undermine the prevailing system of international research collaboration. Trusted Research seeks to protect that system from being undermined by those who might seek to abuse the principles of open science and academic freedom for their own gain. \nTrusted Research is a joint National Protective Security Authority NPSA and National Cyber Security Centre NCSC campaign\, developed with academic institutions and endorsed by key bodies within the sector. It helps the UK’s world-leading academic sector continue to get the most out of international scientific collaboration whilst protecting intellectual property\, sensitive research and personal information from potential theft\, misuse\, or exploitation. It is run collaboratively with the sector and supports self-regulation and sector identification and ownership of risk. \nAll attendees must sign up with an institutional email address – any sign-ups via personal emails will be cancelled. \nPlease note: \n\nNo recording\, screenshots\, transcription\, AI assistants etc throughout the webinar.\nAll attendees should be physically located in the UK at the time of the webinar.\nNPSA/NCSC cameras will be off for the duration of the webinar.\nNo material presented will be shared with attendees post webinar\, but please see the NPSA and NCSC websites for information and resources.
