DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the second session in the CaSDaR Data Stewardship Training series\, where we turn our focus to one of the most critical and complex areas of research data management: ethics\, data protection\, and the handling of sensitive data. \nAs data stewards\, navigating the legal\, ethical\, and institutional frameworks surrounding research data is an essential part of the role. This session will provide you with the knowledge and practical grounding to handle sensitive data responsibly\, ensure compliance with data protection regulations\, and uphold the rights and dignity of research participants. \nThis training session will be run by Digital Curation Centre (DCC). \nWhat You’ll Learn\nBy the end of this session\, you will be able to: \n\nIdentify and apply ethical principles when sharing research data\, including managing informed consent\nRecognise categories of sensitive data and apply appropriate handling procedures\nAlign your data stewardship practice with relevant data protection legislation and institutional requirements\n\nAgenda\n\n12:30: Ethical Principles in Data Sharing: Navigating the ethical considerations surrounding data sharing and ensuring informed consent\n13:30: Sensitive data handling\n14:30: Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): Conducting DPIAs to identify and mitigate potential privacy risks.\n\n\n\n\n\n
