SUMMARY:DPC: iPRES 2026 Great Digital Preservation Bake Off
DESCRIPTION:Calling all technical whisk-takers; the iPRES 2026 Ad Hoc Programme is now open! \nThere are several categories available in the AdHoc programme\, including The Great Digital Preservation Bake Off\, which returns to iPRES 2026 (September 21-25 in Copenhagen). Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a first-timer\, we want to see your tools in action. \nThis year\, we are recruiting for two tracks: the Signature Home Bake and the Showstopper Pro Bake. The submission deadline is June 8th\, 2026. Submit via: https://forms.gle/K2WiG81RWB5E75hi9. \nParticipants will demonstrate how their tools address real-world challenges in digital preservation. Both seasoned and emerging tool developers have the opportunity to serve up and demonstrate the value and effectiveness of their digital preservation tools in a short\, timed presentation. Please note that there is no actual baking at the Bake Off. \nSubmit your Bake Off proposal via the online form by 8 June 2026\, End of Day\, Anywhere on Earth. \nOpen Kitchen Hours – Come Ask Us Anything!\nNot sure which track is right for you? SUMMARY:Fellowship of the Data – International RDM Community Meeting 2026
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe Fellowship of the Data — International RDM Community Meeting 2026 will take place on September 21 and 22 at the University of Vienna. Two Meetings have taken place in Germany already (2023 and 2025) with each ca. 80 participants from diverse backgrounds. Now\, we continue the series: Let’s get together in Vienna and cultivate our supportive environment dedicated to the advancement of RDM! \nContinuing the spirit of 2025: “The Fellowship of the Data is fueled by enthusiasm for Research Data Management (RDM) and networking. Founded by RDM trainers and data stewards\, we want to offer an open space for everyone with aligned interests that fosters our community bonds and allows us to find peers from many different contexts and scientific disciplines. We believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing. By exchanging resources\, learning from each other’s experiences\, and forging synergistic teams\, we can learn how to better support researchers and stakeholders alike”. \nThe goal of our third RDM Community Meeting is to boost the fellowship of like-minded professionals who assist researchers across various fields in their RDM efforts\, whether through training or other means. Keynotes and times for focused exchange were selected carefully to provide us with a program full of relevant and engaging content. \nWe are excited to learn from our international keynote speakers and to take home practical insights to improve our portfolio! \nAgenda Summary\nWe offer opportunities for exchange on and exploration of topics around RDM support along with poster sessions as well as keynotes and a panel discussion chosen to instigate further reflection and networking. \n\nDay 0: Pre-Event Socializing\nDay 1: Lobbying\, Negotiation\, and Shared RDM Services + Posters\nDay 2: Burnout Prevention\, 3 parallel Workshops\, Panel\n\nEvery Day: Fun! \nTarget Audience\nEveryone who is (interested in) supporting and promoting Research Data Management! \n\nWe invite everyone who is involved with RDM training\, supporting researchers in their RDM\, has a position called Data Steward\, Data Manager\, Data Curator\, RDM Professional\, RDM Officer\, or all the other titles the community encompasses.\nEveryone who is interested in the job(s) of this field and our agenda is also very welcome.\n\nAll disciplines welcome! \n\nOur programme is tiered towards everyone who supports / promotes RDM for scientists and researchers from all disciplines.\n\nInternational \n\nWe aim to foster exchange across borders. We explicitly invite attendance and contributions from community members outside of Austria and Germany.\n\nRegistration & Conference Fee\nRegistration is open until August 31st!
