SUMMARY:CaSDaR’s Data Steward Stories: Dr Jeanne Wilbrandt
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nIn this session\, Jeanne will describe her journey and how her research experience informed her development as a Data Steward. This session will have a 30 minute presentation from Jeanne\, followed by an opportunity for audience members to ask questions. \nAudience\nThe audience for these will be individuals who are working in roles involving data management planning\, management of research or data processes within organisations\, or researchers who have an interest into moving into the role of Data Steward. \nSpeaker Biography \nJeanne just moved to Vienna\, Austria to join the team of Data Stewards at the University of Vienna\, now focused thematically on Urban Studies. Previously and since 2020\, she was a Data Steward in the Core Facility for Life Science Computing at the Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena\, Germany. In this role she offers trainings and consultations\, is actively involved in European RDM communities\, and promotes good practices in research data stewardship through sharing her expertise. Prior to this role\, Jeanne worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the FLI\, with a research focus on Computational Bioinformatics. In addition to being embedded as a Data Steward in a research institution\, Jeanne contributes to national and international networks that support the development of Data Stewards\, such as the ELIXIR-RDM Community and Fellowship of the Data\, as well as regularly contributing to outputs supporting others’ development in Research Data Management. Jeanne’s educational background is in Biology; she obtained her MSc in Organismic\, Evolutionary science and Palaeontology from the University of Bonn in 2012\, before her PhD at the Zoological Research Museum Koenig in Bonn.
