DESCRIPTION:This online training on Structuring Research Materials is open to everyone! \nOverview\nDo you know where all your files are? Are you confident you’re working on the latest version? If the answer is “probably…” then this session is for you. \nThis free\, beginner-friendly online training will walk you through practical strategies for organising your research materials\, from folder structures and file naming conventions to version control. \nWhether you’re just starting out or looking to build on existing habits\, you’ll leave with clear\, actionable approaches you can put into practice straight away. \nLearning Outcomes\nBy the end of the session\, you’ll be able to: \n\nStructure your research files using a logical\, consistent folder hierarchy\nName files in a way that makes them findable\, orderable\, and unambiguous\nManage versions effectively – and know when tools like Git might help\n\nThis session was designed as part of the STEP-UP project\, which supports digital research technical professionals through training\, mentoring and career support. However\, we welcome anyone who works with research files to join. \nExperience Required\nThere is no prior experience needed.
